What kinds of things do you treat in dermatology?

We treat everything related to the skin, hair and nails.  Rashes, acne, psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurtiva, alopecia, vitiligo, moles, skin cancer, fungal infections, and pre cancerous lesions are common things we treat every day.

A full body skin exam is important for early detection and prevention of skin cancer. During your exam, your provider will educate you on suspicious lesions and skin cancer prevention. They will check your skin from scalp to toes, and you can undress as far as comfortable. We recommend removing undergarments for a thorough exam. Our primary goal is to make you feel comfortable and at ease.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends yearly full body skin cancer screenings starting in your 20s or 30s. However, the best age and frequency depend on your personal risk factors.

Several factors increase the risk of developing skin cancer, including sun exposure, family history, and lighter skin types, especially people with blonde or red hair. If you notice any worrisome skin growths or changes in moles, you should get screened immediately.

Is there downtime for certain treatments?

Most of our procedures have limited downtime and shouldn’t affect daily activities. If you need a more invasive procedure, potential risks, benefits, and downtime will be discussed at your consultation.

Arrive with a clean face, avoid harsh treatments like waxing, and stay hydrated. Inform your provider about any blood thinning medications, and avoid over-the-counter blood thinners (like aspirin, ibuprofen, Tylenol, and fish oil) for 7-10 days before your appointment to reduce bruising. Avoid alcohol for 48-72 hours before. Come with questions—we want to help you feel like the best version of you!

We carry Elta MD sunscreen, cleansers, and moisturizers, as well as PCA Skin and SkinMedica product lines.

Yes, we honor the Alle rewards program and want you to benefit from it.

Why are you offering medical weight management at a dermatology practice?

Many chronic conditions and diseases that affect the skin, treated by dermatologists, are directly related to our internal metabolic health.  Conditions like psoriasis, eczema and hidradenitis suppurtiva are associated with insulin resistance.  Excess body weight and insulin levels cause inflammation throughout the body and negatively impact the skin.  Our skin is our largest organ and is connected to all of our body systems.  We believe in preventative care not reactive health care.

You may be a candidate for GLP-1 medications for weight loss if you have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27+ with at least one weight-related condition, like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, PCOS, or insulin resistance. However, a history of certain medical conditions may disqualify you.

Our approach uses GLP-1s as a tool within a broader lifestyle intervention. Our expert providers have extensive experience in exercise physiology and internal medicine. We help guide you through dietary, behavioral, and lifestyle changes to ensure lasting results, supporting a sustainable path to health and wellness.
